John Moran was the founder, owner and chief engineer of Digital Services Recording
studios in Houston, Texas, from 1981 to 2007. His facilities included multiple recording and
mastering studios, a remote truck and a soundstage. He sold the award winning
facility to an investment group in 2007 and returned to concentrate specifically on mastering.
John has been published in Billboard Magazine, MIX Magazine, Recording
Engineer/Producer, was an invited speaker at AES conventions on behalf of Sony Pro Audio & Solid State Logic and he has been part of multiple RIAA Gold & Platinum, Grammy and
Oscar winning productions.
The original world famous Studio A was featured on the cover of MIX Magazine in
1983. John's Remote Truck was a MIX Magazine TEC Award Finalist
in 1985. Under his direction, the studio was named Billboard's #1 R&B
Recording Studio in 2000 for producing the most #1 Chart Singles that year. He served on the Board of Governors of the Texas Chapter of the National
Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences from 1996-2000.
With 40 years of high end production experience in a diverse array of music styles, John is now mastering compact disc, dvd and high resolution audio formats as well as electronic delivery over the web.
